Here at the Good Local, we promise to bring Good News to the community. Unfortunately our world is not all good news. In the state of TN there were over 38,000 child abuse claims last year, that is 104 children a day!
Keep reading…I promise we have Good News to share! There are HELPERS! The Exchange Club, Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse is working hard every single day to make child abuse a thing of the past.
The amazing staff at The Center are dedicated to educating communities about abuse, how to spot it and where to report it. Prevention really is a main focus of The Center. In coordination with local municipalities, churches, schools and civic groups communities are coming together to train and educate parents, care givers and even children about child abuse.
Knowledge really is power. When the community rallies together to acknowledge, understand and resolve issues that affect the most vulnerable among us we all win and the future looks brighter. That is the Good News!
